Venice is facing another extraordinary tsunami on Sunday after the worst flooding in 50 years caused damage estimated at more than $ 1 billion and drowned St. Mark's Square with 100 centimeters of water.
Venice's wave center said the tide could reach 160 centimeters on Sunday afternoon.
"Tomorrow (Sunday) will be a difficult day, but we are ready," Venice Mayor Luigi Bruniaro told a news conference on Saturday.
The tide was 187 centimeters on Tuesday, compared with the record of 194 centimeters in 1966
